Poptechs.com was registered on September 2000, so it almost about 8 years from today. It was registered with the help of free domain registration domainzero.com. In domainzero i did not put much use of this domain, i just use the domain for fun and learn. Before domainzero was about to collapsed a year after, i rushed to transfer it to an Indonesian webhosting company Techscape. Since then i just use poptechs.com for my experiment and fun. Sometimes i use the domain to help my friend to host some of their files either for fun or for their research. Otherwise,  I used poptechs.com for testing scripts for my own and my clients, and also to fulfill my ego using  my own domain for my email.

The domain poptechs.com itself was choosen from my father’s shop ‘Toko Pop’, and adding tech was make this domain cool. But poptech.com was already registered before, so i just add an ‘s’ to make it poptechs.com and did not reduce the ‘cool’ factor. Last year I made an tools and hardware online shop and planned to use poptechs.com, but i found that poptechs.com ‘cool’ factor did not help much if my target market hard to memorize the name. So i managed to find another name perkakasku.com , which much more easy to memorize for Indonesian as my target market. I also use poptechs.com subdomain han.poptechs.com for my blog about my family, esspecially to tell about my twins sons in Bahasa Indonesian.

From now on, i will try to make better use of poptechs.com, since this domain still sounds cool as a blog for my review in technology. Enjoy!
